Anto so Kakanaan na Sakey ya Umaanlong a Pangasinan?

nen Santiago B. Villafania

“Our literatures in Tagalog, Cebuano and Ilokano will continue developing as the writers in these languages become more facile with craft. Tagalog has truly become a national language. But the minor languages like Pampango, Zambal and Pangasinan will be poorer – there are no novels written in these languages now, and even their poetry is disappearing.” — F. Sionil Jose

Para angan ko ed saray oala ni ed kalangoeran ya naubol so ulo ra ed aoiran no iner say uusaren a salita et Filipino tan English, nayarin anggapo. ‘The calm after the storm’, what’s next?

By Jose Sison Luzadas
     Delray Beach, FL
     luzadas@bellsouth.net

“SOLDIERS should not regard themselves as a “potent political force” and should not intervene in politics even if their commander-in-chief is embroiled in controversy.” … General Generoso Senga

“The role of the Armed Forces in these trying times must remain apolitical and must not wrest power for ourselves.”

“The military’s constitutional duty as protector of the people is “not a license” to grab power from civilian authorities on the basis of “perceived” misdeeds.

“As professional soldiers, we do not enjoy an unrestrained license to engage in partisan politics or publicly speak our minds against the government.” … General Hermogenes Esperon Jr.

There are still few good gentlemen and officers in the Philippine Armed Forces, bred in the West Point and Baguio who cannot be cajoled playing the “modernizing” generals that Gregorio Honasan and Danilo Lim believed themselves to be so.

There is a handful civilian-military / politicians who nurture that coup d’tat, is the only accessible backdoor to power grab.

While it is lamentable that majority of our citizens “just go with the flow”, it’s high time for the rest of us to show demonstration of support to the stand of Generals Senga and Esperon and the men in their chain of command. We must declare our faith, integrity and trust of their leadership and to every rank-and-file soldier having shown a unique role they are prepared during the crisis of our 60 year-old republic.

Was it God’s wonders not giving in to former President Cory Aquino’s wish and prayers? Was it a denial to the clamor and yearning of Joseph Estrada to return to power?

Or was this the last wake up for President Arroyo to spend the five remaining years nothing but an enlightened governance where there is no excuse accepted of any commission of anomaly or shades of corruption?

God bless the poor hungry Filipino massess for they have been spared from unnecessary death, destruction and despair initiated in part by those who pretend to work for their cause.

Pity our country for she has suffered enough, long wanting the services of true, honest and dedicated men and women in the government who think that serving the people is the noblest thing next to being a citizen.

Godf bless the Philippines and protect her from further harm!
