Pinablic ya kabaleyan, Sir Joe,

Thank God, the show is over. The formal opening was quite memorable & momentous. 3 National Artists were there, Napoleon Abueva, Bencab & Virgilio Almario. Canadian Ambassador Robert Desjardins, UP Diliman Chancellor Sergio Cao, Fine Arts Prof. Emeritus Virginia Agbayani, UPCFA Dean Tina Colayco, UPAA Toronto President Noel Cruz & former Bangko Sentral Governor Jaime Laya were also there. UP President Emerlinda Roman came the following day as she was at the UP Davao commencement that day.

And of course, families, friends, artists & art lovers plus the UPCFA students were in attendance, too. Dean Colayco said it was one of the best attended art openings, if not the best, in the college. And finally, I met Santiago Villafania with another kabaleyan, Dr. Carlos Pizarro. Sonny gave me a book of his Pangasinan poetry. (pls. see: http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache:T9mHI9ciG8oJ:www.dalityapi.com

Our sincerest condolence to Uncle Victor and Auntie Perla Ubando in the passing away of Regine Ubando.

Regine had the chance to go to the US with his parents but decided to help our beloved city of Dagupan. His tireless 12 years of work was noted by Mayor Al, his co-workers and the people he had served.

Being in Dagupan before he was laid to rest, it was an honor to witness the many testimonies to this civil servant.

Rest In Peace. Love from cousin Joe Ceralde and family.

Alfredo Gavina
29 April 2008

I’m looking for any relatives. My father’s name was Anecleto (Alex) Gavina.

I went to the Philippines with him in 1965. I was 10 years old. He introduced me to a brother whose name was also Alfredo Gavina. I left after a month back to California.

I asked my dad to come back with me but he said that he would go in a short while. He never came. I’m hoping to find some relatives for I am planning to go next year to the Philippines.

If you have any info, please write back. Thank You.

Alfred Gavina

Looking for Pinky Arana

Dick Bolt
28 April 2008

I keep reading about the Arenas family of Lingayen. I am wondering if it might be the same family I am looking for.

I have been looking for Pinky Arana who has a sister in Lingayen named Babylyn. It’s possible I have been spelling the name incorrectly and could be same family!

My wife went to school with Pinky that is said to be in US. The family connections in Dagupan seem to over lap, Reyna family for one!

Any help here?

Dick in MD USA
