TWELVE local government units have so far availed of the Skills Registry System program of the Department of Labor and Employment, recognizing it as a valuable tool for finding job opportunities for their respective populace.
The 12 are the cities of Alaminos, San Carlos and Urdaneta and the towns of Bayambang, Binmaley, Bolinao, Calasiao, Lingayen, Rosales, Sison, Sta. Barbara, and Sual.
DOLE Regional Director Grace Ursua said memorandum of agreements for the program have been signed with the participating LGUs.
The SRS program facilitates job matching by providing a ‘live’ electronic register of skills, that will guide employers in their search for manpower and for investment decisions.
The database can also be used in policy formulation and decision-making by the government and other decision makers.
DOLE, through its Bureau of Local Employment, regularly updates the database, and only names of those actively seeking employment will appear.
Registrants should bring their bio data, certificate(s) of employment, proofs of skills earned and pictures to their respective LGUs for inclusion in the database.
