Typhoon 'Cosme' struck with a loud bang, created havoc for two hours and left Pangasinan in complete disarray.
At presstime, estimated damage to agriculture and infrastructure has ballooned to P4.3 billion and still rising.
And from an initial report of 6 deaths immediately after Cosme exited, the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council already confirmed 38 deaths.

Last Wednesday's count of 29 deaths has risen to 38 as of Friday, while 61 were treated for injuries.
The latest count was based on reports received by the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) and is believed not be the final count as situation and damage reports continue to trickle in from the affected towns.

Homeowners begin rebuilding

Life in the typhoon battered communities is returning to normalcy as homeowners have begun the difficult task of repairing their damaged houses, and for many rebuilding their houses.
According to the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC), to date some 22000 houses have been reported as totally destroyed and some 48,000 houses as partially destroyed.
