Good policy

Godofredo V. Urlanda

Yes, I agree to this move/policy of my favorite governor! Spend the money in Pangasinan to spur business.

Just so simple but it’s brilliant!

How dare you, Al Mendoza?

Now, you’re telling the boxing world the truth you tried to hide notwithstanding the fact something was wrong, something fishy going on.

The Marquez-Pacquiao fight?

Rigged?

How dare you . . . exchange your morality with a US tourist visa?

The lowest of the low can you get.

It won’t be that surprising since I kept a watchful eye on you . . . the incessant avoidance of the truth.

A journalist you are always in search of what’s wrong.

Ermin Garcia, Sr., would be weeping in his grave.

I couldn’t agree more with Ermin on the predicament when BB’s reached the barrier of no return.

After 60, it’s all downhill. The slide to oblivion is getting faster by the minute.

There are not only 5 W’s, if I may add. The most important of all is the 6th W . . . the Woman whom you’re living with!

If I were a hypocrite, I would be tempted to denigrate Mr. Gonzalo Duque’s observation re congress upper house members’ trip to South Africa nothing more than unbridled dawdle into a one way street. But we are a democracy and I therefore must respect his insight.

I do, however, would like to ask where was Mr. Gonzalo Duque all this time? How can he chastise one group that goes on a junket but hardly a squeak from him when it is the administration that does it with regularity and huge entourage?

I think it would have been better if Mr. Duque investigated if the junketeers brought along their grand children, yayas, personal makeup artist, mistresses, spouses etc.

Then it would have proven him champion of the people not just for Empress Gloria.

“A criminal syndicate masquerading as a government”

By Oscar V. Cruz D. D.

Truth to say, the above statement qualifying the ruling administration is not altogether right but neither it is completely wrong. It may not be altogether fair and just, considering the still good number of people in the present government. Yet, it may not be said either that there are no downright incumbent grossly corrupt and corrupting well identified officials in the same administration who have long since been deeply engaged in big continuous and profitable self-service—with consequent flagrant disservice to the citizens.

One Pangasinan

HUWAG maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan.

This is an old local adage that in a nutshell captures what Governor Amado Espino Jr. is sending out to Pangasinenses when he made the call for locals to travel and discover their own province.

Given that times are hard at the moment, what with prices of basic goods such as food and fuel continuously rising; traveling could very well soon be a luxury that majority of Pangasinenses cannot afford.

Meet the BBs!

By Ermin F. Garcia Jr.

I received an email from my sister Frieda in Illinois last week enjoining me to read a column that appeared in New York Times penned by David Brooks. His piece was titled “The Great Forgetting”.

I knew why she sent it. The column pointed out what we have began to complain about recently, forgetting many things that we never had problems with until two years ago. I knew she meant to say: Hindi tayo nag-iisa!

That was truly consoling for someone who’s been in constant denial about his state of mortality.
