Questions over authenticity of Ms. Arenas post graduate studies seemed to have opened a can of worms.

It reminded me of someone trumpeting completing a degree at U.C. Berkeley only to end up raising more questions? His name failed to appear on the prestigious institution alumni roster? He must be related to another who kept fancying history for seating next to Bill Clinton at Georgetown University.

Receiving my diploma from Batungbakal Railroad Elementary School, I can only express admiration for Ms. Arenas and other’s ability to endure great difficulties in pursuing higher education in the U.S. and elsewhere.

In view of officials continuing failures in conducting themselves during proper discourse on public service, citizens should start asking themselves some serious questions.

Are we better off with persons offering themselves as paragon of intellectual richness, or should we select individuals armed with natural flair for probity, integrity and decency?

If Ms. Arenas is no longer interested in further discussion of her curriculum vitae, her kabaleyans will settle for a simple enlightenment about her recent trip to EU together with a delegation of congressional members.

Ms Ric & Mr. Jeremias Andrade Carrera,

Rachel response below via the SP administrator is full of holes.

“I took my course in Negotiations and Dispute Resolution at JFK School of Government at Harvard University, and again a campaign leadership seminar. I graduated at Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy for my master’s degree. To verify, Nileema Noble, head of UNDP, was my classmate and dorm mate…they can call her.”

Nileema Noble, her classmate and dorm mate, graduated in the one year GMAP program with 3, two week residence course at Fletcher and rest at her remote laptop. Maybe as remote as the VEEP office?

The graduation ceremony was July 2005. The photo gallery as courtesy of Fletcher showed Rachel and her roommate in the graduation gala.

As an honorable lady from Pangasinan, I think a correction of her biography website link both of you posted to correct the graduation date of 2005 instead of 2003 is in order.

I also admired her bravery in bringing her roommate and dorm mate name that had been vilified for harsh treatment of her UNDP Filipino staff as the Google search of the web “Nileema Noble” came up with horrific stories.

If Ms. Arenas graduated from Harvard and not just took some courses, then she must be shying from the Harvard-Kennedy School of Government Alumni Association of the Philippines because I cannot find her name in their website: http://www.ksgphil.org/alumni_a-c.htm.

Thank you Ms. Arenas, for your prompt response.

To find out more about our young politician, click on the following link: http://www.rachelbabyarenas.com/biography.html, http://www.congress.gov.ph/members/search.php?congress=14&id=arenas-r http://www.congress.gov.ph/members/search.php?congress=14&id=arenas-r

Nowhere does it say anything about a degree from Harvard University. She should, however, address the issue and put an early end to a gloomier educational background circulating in the net. Being a Tufts University graduate alone is enough to be proud of.

Rachel’s Resume:

She claims to have graduated from Tufts in 2003 at the same time heading the public affairs department of the office of the Vice President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2003.

http://www.rachelbabyarenas.com/biography.html

The Tufts website shows she graduated from the Global Master of Arts Program in 2005, not 2003.
