Overseas bowlers vs. locals

Aurelio A. Casillan

Subject is bowling to Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez.

The national bowling invitational tournament will attract more Filipino overseas residing in the United States.

Most Filipino organizations or associations have bowling leagues every Friday and Saturday. I’m sure this tournament will become a prestigious event. The tournament will be overseas Filipino Pangasinan bowler versus Pangasinan bowler; the overseas Filipino bowler champion meets the Pangasinan bowler champion for individual championship. Make the tournament be for single, double and team competition.

Mr. Carrera, a Punch Forum blogger or is it boggler?, said, “What is saddening is that there are only few patriotic Filipinos, the rest are corrupt especially among high officials.”

The big question we need to ask, “Is Mr. Carrera one of the few patriotic, mga tunay na Filipinos, sa isip, sa salita at sa gawa?”

It will be interesting to know the names of these few Filipinos he claimed to be patriotic. It will be nice if he can show us a listing of their names so that we can fully support them especially because few patriotic Filipinos out of more than 80 millions are very rare like diamonds.

People are too quick to make a hero out of this guy Lozada who is spilling the beans before a Senate Committee.

Rodolfo Lozada is not a whistleblower in the true sense of the word. A whistleblower is an informant who exposes wrongdoing in an organization in the hope of stopping it. He is usually motivated by a compelling sense of moral and ethical outrage.

The only reason Lozada is singing like a canary is his take in the aborted broadband deal would have been a paltry P50,000.

If he is truly outraged by the graft and corruption around him, he should have exposed all the other deals he was privy to long time ago.

Lozada is just as dirty as the rest of them - servants of the people lining their pockets with bribe money. He lives in a very expensive house, his children go to private schools, he vacations abroad - all these on the salary of a government functionary.

Give me a break! I do not have any compassion for him and his ilk. They are all on the take.

Now the sycophants around Lozada have elevated him to hero status, perhaps convincing him he has a future in politics. I have no doubt in my mind that should he decide to run for public office, the people will vote for him overwhelmingly.

And it wouldn’t be the first time the people made a stupid mistake. They get the kind of government they deserve.

Oriel and GMA’s Compatibility:
Oriel says Cha-Cha will solve the problem over and over and his arguments resulted in his own contradiction of himself. While GMA always says she will stop corruption like a broken long playing record only to admit later that indeed there is corruption like the NBN-ZTE.

GMA should hire Oriel as her consultant since they are the most compatible-they think that all Filipinos including the Punch readers are stupid. Oriel keeps on asking the forum posters for “Evidence” of corruption against his idol GMA before, and now his solution again is his Cha cha cha.

Even Boogie, Tango, or Spin-spin will not solve the problem as you suggested Mr. Oriel. Do not post the same rhetoric over and over.

Constitution is not the problem in the Philippines. Change it, rewrite it….whatever. Wala ring mangyayari.

The so called politicians ang problema. Puro unethical.

Philippines is the only nation in the world whose constitution was written in pencil.

Mr. Oriel,

You are well read and seem to have a lot of ability to do investigative research. Maybe you could clear a televised piece by “Correspondents” ANC channel.

Here is how I digest it. I heard it is the beginning of the most corrupt system in GMA government. I think this one is more newsworthy than the “sampal or binobobo ang Pinoy sa pick-up sa NAIA kay Lozada for his safety tapos sabihin hindi abduction by Razon and Co in national TV.”

The way the expose runs it is treason, the giving up of Pangasinan & Cebu, - sovereign pieces of Philippine land to the People Republic of China (Red China).

Oh I just made an example of both places but it has the same meaning, the Spratly Island belongs to the Philippine and GMA’s giving up even a foot is treason.

Now it goes on and even gets worst than that of the plot of Canada’s friend Benedict Arnold, giving up of Philippine rights to Spratly in exchange for liberal loans to the Phillipines without bidding on the Northrail, CyberEd or NBN. The corrupt beginning of government officials and fertile soil because without bidding why even look at cost or schedule.

Pinoys only had to look at the waiting heavy equipment rusting away as proofs the project engineer do not have a timeline to meet in every phase of project. An almost perfect plan if it was not for government “ASARs” like Bishop Cruz, Eugenio Lopez, Ayalas, and the current whistleblowers like Lozada.

Fellow posters, as I read SP and news from Pangasinan that Pangasinan fully supports GMA, except for our militant Bishop Cruz and ousted JDV. We have to understand them because for one thing the average folk do not have internet and SP Forum is not in the printed copy. Mr. Oriel’s explanation or Mr. Carrera’s postings do not reach them. It took a couple of years before EDSA came about before Ninoy’s martyrdom.

One last thing, GMA pardons ERAP and ERAP pardons GMA, kids, and FG for plunder and treason???? Oh what a system… even CBCP are having a dilemma.

Who is on first? Or what is next?

Truth be told

While  initiatives and actions - ranging from simple calls to prayer rallies to heated street  cries coming  from practically all sectors in society including from the ranks of the government û brewed in the capital last week in protest against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo over the now  extremely convoluted ZTE broadband deal, Pangasinan  welcomed  the country’s embattled  leader warmly.

The Lozada Fever in Pangasinan

By Ermin Garcia Jr.

The Lozada Fever is beginning to catch fire in the province. But it’s nothing like the “Paquiao the Pacman Fever”.  There is a whale of a difference there.

The Pacman Fever brought the nation together to hail the renowned boxer who crushed his foes with his mean steely fists making Pinoys everywhere proud. It is about the man.
