ALL is set for a four-day medical, surgical and dental mission to be conducted in Dagupan on January 21-24 by thirty Michigan, USA-based Filipino-American doctors.

City Health Dr. Leonard Carbonell said about 4,000 indigent patients are expected to benefit from the mission.

The doctors, Carbonell said, will conduct major and minor surgeries for free.

He also said the mission was organized in coordination with the Far Eastern and American Nurses Association of Great Lakes led by its president, Angela Bedia, the Dagupan City government, and the Dagupan Medical Centrum.

The city government will provide food for the group, location of the mission, transportation, security, and technical assistance.

Minor surgeries like cyst removal will be done at a designated room inside the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome while the major surgeries will be done at the Dagupan Medical Centrum.

The volunteer surgeons, doctors, medical specialists and dentists will arrive in the city today and will be given a welcome party to be hosted by the city government led by Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr.

Carbonell added that a state-of-the-art ambulance will be donated by the group to the city government.

MISSOURI GROUP

Meanwhile, Carbonell also announced that another U.S-based group will conduct a medical mission on February 18 to 22.

The Missouri-based Fil-Am doctors, led by Dr. Proceso Arenos, will conduct the medical mission at the People’s Astrodome and at the Region I Medical Center.—CSR
