A follow-up on Mayor Alipa’s visit to America:

I attended the wake of my friend, Lamberto Arzadon, and one of the topics discussed was the “working visit” of the Dagupan’s big shots to America to promote PAWIL DAGUPAN and business opportunities.

I asked, “Why Alipa’s entourage did not come to Chicago as they usually do”? The Dagupan City Association of Chicago in no uncertain terms backed-off to extend the invitation when Alipa demanded, that the Association pick up the tab.

The Association did the heavy lifting the first time Alipa and his merry band was in Chicago, and was caught off-guard when they definitively asked first class. The expense was huge . . . and the Association was left hanging to dry.

Just a shot in the dark. Is it possible that the accommodations provided by the Dagupan Associations in America was reimbursed by the City of Dagupan to Alipa?

Probably so! Only Alipa and the Devil knew.

Mr. Isidro Ramos,

It’s dangerous to take advice based on Robert Kobayashi’s book, this guy is one of the best multilayer marketing salesman of AMWAY.

I have listened to him on TV. It’s another of the many pyramid presentations of this type of sales pitches in buying their book, product, and attending seminars. Nothing goes further than doing fact checks and reality checks using simple life experiences.

The Archbishop is right on to say it would take an economist to understand the Peso paradox. I read the column before I posted my simple post previously and took your advice and read it again and your posted article on Kobayashi again.

In my opinion, the US had followed its foreign exchange policies in its economic strategy goals and so is China in undervaluing its Yuan for its foreign exports aims.

Like what most ASEAN countries are doing right now except the Philippine who would rather post record high Peso in spite of it’s falling exports.

Should we now take Kobayashi’s view or our Federal Chairman’s? CIA fact book in the net is a good start to fact check on Kobayashi and his article.

One Microeconomic & Macroeconomics 101 measurement of a countries economy is in its GNP.

Check out the “Super Ferry” incident this week in the net and learn how the passengers got rescued by bangkas. I sure do not want to be the one in a million to be out there caught in the violent sea.

To Mr. Ramos;

Your positive input on the ferry service idea helps in motivating our technical planners and thinkers (?) to move forward towards progress.

I believe that a ferry service is much better compared to the airport idea because it’s a lot cheaper.

I agree with you a hundred percent that the coastal scenery in the region is far better than the ones they have in countries you mentioned. But why compare?

We have what others don’t. We have the Hundred Islands. What about the Tambobong Beach in Dasol? Have you seen the Bolinao Beaches?

Not to mention the happy faces of Pangasinenses themselves. We are a unique group of people! Pangasinenses never give up!

When things don’t work, we make it work! Anything is possible! Pangasinenses are the most fun loving, most caring, intelligent, passionate and the most envious group among Filipinos.

This is how we, Pangasinenses, are perceived by most people who are from other provinces.

Sorry, but I think there is some truth to this. Jealousy (a trait that I hate) is a major factor that’s preventing us from succeeding.

Kanyan no nayari komon mankakasakaey tayo. We can agree to disagree but, we don’t have to resort to personal attacks or name calling.

Tondaan tayo met la komon so panagbalaw tayo ed say gobernador tayo tan saray opisyales ya inboboto na saray kabaleyan tayo. Angapoy “anghel” ed siyopad sikara, balet ta sikara so manuoley ed probinsiya tayo kanyan nakaokolan ya suportaan tayo ira tapian naipanengneng tayo ed saray ontotombok ya henerasyon ya walay pankakasakey tayo tan walay “loyalty” tayo ed say inaro tayon PANGASINAN.

Let our leaders do their jobs! Let’s do our part to help our beloved Pangasinan prosper!

Kabaleyan Mr. Carrera;

The governor’s visit to California wasn’t just a “BARAAN”. It’s a way to achieve one of his major purposes in coming to America…that is to get a piece of the pie to take home to his people.

And those people he mingled with aren’t aliens Mr. Carrera, they’re your kabaleyans!

As a leader, sometimes you have to have dinner with people you can’t stand! And sometimes, you have to rub elbows with people you don’t know. It’s all about business and politics!

You’re smart enough to know what I am talking about.
