Ms. Heidi:
How do you know that my statements are assumptions? Do you know how much reading and research I do before making those statements?
There is not enough space if I will respond in minute detail on your stated ASSUMPTIONS. How much more do I need to know a person or the readers like Mr. Pontaoe and Ermin Garcia Jr. before judging SPIN? Is Ph100M lost in June 2007 when he sent trucks, pay loaders, bulldozers to dispose dead bangus and Ph500M in Feb. 2002 not enough contradictions from his inaugural address wherein he stated to quote “The marine resources of the vast Lingayen Gulf and “OUR COUNTLESS COMMUNAL WATERWAYS HAVE SUFFERED AN INEXORABLE DECLINE DUE TO HARMFUL FISHING METHODS.”
In his 100 days report SPIN or SPINELESS stated to quote “We directed a thorough cleanup of our shorelines of Lingayen Gulf. Again I have personally started this crusade when we launched “SAVE LINGAYEN GULF MOVEMENT” when I was the provincial director of PNP”.
How can you save Lingayen Gulf when you can not even save the rivers that discharges into the gulf which are heavily occupied by the fish pens of rich and powerful owners?
That is why he is SPINELESS. HE IS INUTILE AGAINST THE RICH AND POWERFUL.
Do you still consider my statements or Ermin Garcia Jr’s and other posters statements about the situation on the environment throwing mud at the SPINELESS?
You asked to come up with good ideas if I have any and that is a surprise to me. Is this forum not full of good ideas? Just because the ideas are not being implemented does not mean they are not good.
On your vacillating statements about politicians, I believe that I do not follow the logic. Most of those politicians are intelligent people who only do not have conscience, compassion, and are corrupt.
Some may not be as corrupt but they allow corruption to happen or do not stop it. Until they prove themselves to be caring for the public, they do not deserve to be trusted. Kung hindi magkakapera, hindi interesado.
On the so-called “WORKING VISIT” as stated by BARAAN, actually it is a BARAAN for a junket. They were invited by those associations for their association’s party-period. ABANGAN ANG MAGANDANG REPORT NI SPIN/SPINELESS KUNG MAYROON.

Sir Gonz, no agto onggalaw nen Gov. Espino, mas marakep no sikayo la so onggalaw. Agyo la iilaloan ira’y totoon anggapo’y pililikna ra ed luyag da. Say “toon tonger” anggano pekpeken yo, tonger nin siansia.
Remember the Pangasinan Studies Center that I am talking about? You could start it in your university. Create a research committee and send them to Spain. I am sure you can act and do better if you’re going to lead “the search” for the founding day of Pangasinan.

Real threat
Avid followers of the nightly teleseryes on national television were abruptly interrupted from their blissful viewing Tuesday night. The disruption proved to be shocking: a breaking news story on a bomb blast at the Batasan Pambansa complex in the capital Manila. Suddenly, all the fantasy and fictional drama were replaced by real images of blasted vehicles, bloodied victims, shattered building, and commotion as survivors tried to help the wounded.
The incident, which happened within the compound that is home to the offices and halls of the House of Representatives, was unnerving in itself. In a current historical context, it is even more chilling considering it comes less than a month after the still unsolved bombing at the Glorietta Mall in Makati, the country’s premier business district.

Condemnations have been voiced against the perpetrators of this latest crime that claimed four lives, seriously wounded several others and hurt countless family and friends of the victims. We join these voices, including those of Pangasinan’s own House Representatives and Dangupan-Lingayen Archbishop Oscar Cruz, in denouncing the attack.

JDV’s resignation will start the revolution
By Ermin Garcia Jr.
President Arroyo had apologized for what she said was her inappropriate telephone conversation with a Comelec official in 2004 but not many believed she was contrite, much less believed that she and her husband didn’t cheat FPJ of the presidency.
When the congressmen voted down the impeachment complaint against President Arroyo twice in a row, nobody believed it was a conscience vote.

“Smart” CD for babies
By Gerry Garcia
SOME six years ago in the United States there was on-going research on the effects of classical music on brain development in early childhood. This was part of the “Smart Symphonies” program of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Naras) Foundation, which produces the Grammy Awards.
A notable consequence of this was the launching of the “Smart Symphonies” CD– a compact disc containing selections recommended by numerous experts in music and child development.

Hope
By Jun Velasco
“SILVER bells, silver bells, it’s Christmas time in the city . . .” this familiar song and other heart-tingling Christmas carols pervade our radio and TV sets these days.
The old carols we’ve heard since childhood conjure joyful memories.
For a moment, we wished Christmas were now here, but alas, we might get what we want. We may not have the kind of Christmas we have in mind, such as the ones we used to know. Those were the days when there were no cares and concerns.
This year’s Christmas may not be joyful. The world was simple then, now it’s complicated, problematic.

For the nth time, when was Pangasinan founded?
By Gonzalo Duque
OUR super busy publisher-editor Ermin or whomever he has tasked to write last week’s editorial didn’t think that much for saying that the province celebrated its 111th anniversary last December 12.
How could you, pare naman? November l3, l896 was the birthday of the late Speaker Eugenio Perez Sr. Not the founding date of the province.
This is the primordial reason this columnist has been advocating a historical research so that we shall know once and for all the province’s actual discovery, whether by the Spaniards or by the Malays or Indonesians, and whoever.

What is happiness?
By Al S. Mendoza
HAPPINESS, if not love, is one of the most elusive commodities on planet Earth.
You just can’t have it at the flick of a finger. You can’t even buy it, if you know what I mean.
Many wealthy politicians in the recent national elections must have learned their lesson the hard way: Money can’t always buy votes.
Recently, the Palace (who else?) tried to buy the principle of Gov. Ed Panlilio of Pampanga, a Roman Catholic priest; a big flop!

“Rise with Rice” out
By Sosimo Ma. Pablico
Almost three years after my book entitled Rise with Rice was launched by PhilRice (Philippine Rice Research Institute), its publisher, in March 2005, the second edition is now off the press. It was launched on November 5, 2007 during the 22nd anniversary celebration of PhilRice with the presence of 11 Nueva Ecija farmers and a rice products processor who were chronicled in the book.
