A kitchen with ovens fired up could get real hot. Those who try to get in risk the consequence of getting burnt. It could be mighty hazardous when you go to a level you’re not prepared to be in the first place.
Also, these people who never stop posting with their “privacy”, I say, what’s the use? If somebody has been known and hiding is completely unwise, why not do what almost all posters of the Forum does?
Be honest with yourself! Unless you change your name to Ferdinand Magellan . . . Rio de Janeiro . . . Vasco da Gama. . . Pinhais Oporto or some obscure name, you’re going nowhere. Like what a person believes while abstruse in search engines . . . no privacy in the internet.

Ending the Flooding
Most of the past week has been sun-shiny once again, hot and humid actually some of the days with temperatures back at summer levels of above 30 degrees centigrade.
But the dry weather is a very welcome respite following almost two previous weeks of incessant rains and several typhoons which beat on Luzon, mostly the northern and central parts, one after the other.
Residents of towns and cities in the province, especially in the central and bustling Dagupan and its neighboring Calasiao and Sta. Barbara, are thankful for the break from the downpour because it also means relief from floodwater, not to mention the ensuing traffic mayhem in the streets and the health threats.

Households in areas which have gone underwater, even at just ankle level or as awful as waist-high, are surely busy cleaning out the filth that is the natural and rather exasperating aftermath of getting submerged.
Local governments should likewise be up on their toes clearing out the debris and all the rubbish in the drainage system.

Let the games begin!
By Ermin Garcia Jr.
SAN CARLOS City Mayor Julier Resuello has shown the way how politicians and the clergy can agree to disagree civilly, and keep the community united for a common purpose - a God-fearing community that values integrity in governance.
I wasn’t there to witness the event of the decade but I can imagine the impact of the game on the community.
It is no secret that the city had always been the cradle of jueteng in central Pangasinan while the Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese is at the helm of the anti-jueteng crusade, courtesy of Archbishop Oscar Cruz.
Could this mean that jueteng will now be a thing of the past in the city with the idealistic young mayor at the helm? I join the San Carlenians and the archdiocese in this prayer.
I doff my hat to Mayor Julier! May your tribe increase.

Unwitting punchline from imperious MLQ
By Gerry Garcia
AS expected following the trouncing defeat of pro-administration senators in the last polls, opposition senators are preparing to reopen the investigation of the “Hello Garci” vote-cheating controversy again, only three years remaining before the presidential elections in 2010.
Revival of the “Hello Garci” scandal would likely spur the filing of another impeachment complaint against PGMA, the third one which is viewed “untimely” in the wake of the nation’s focus on the fight against terrorism and the La Niña phenomenon.
Administration, on the other hand, is building up its case against oppositionist Lacson to abet his indictment as co-conspirator in the US espionage case.

Hope for the world’s poor
By Jun Velasco
JOE de V, Dagupeno, our 4th District congressman and Philippine speaker, was at center stage in Kuala Lumpur during the assemblage of top parliament leaders in the Association of East Asian Nations — the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
For a moment, you mused: was this the man you were hobnobbing with at a beach home in Bonuan Binloc?
Yes. Out there in Kuala Lumpur, capital of modern Malaysia, this Dagupeño was the eloquent spokesman of the Third World countries that could hardly settle their billions of debts to the World Bank.
Known for simplifying complex and complicated issues with his finger tips, Joe de V, the Dagupeño who has risen to the Philippine Speakership for the 5th time, was urging foreign banks led by the IMF to stop collecting from underdeveloped countries.

New pathways to education
By Gonzalo Duque
HEARD the song “Honesty?”
We want to dedicate it to most of our pubic officials. Here goes, “Honesty, it’s a lonely word, everyone is so untrue.”
If you read the national dailies these days, that guy whose name is Doble seems to be true to his name. Right?
* * *
Integral to our advocacy for a responsive educational system, we have presented a paper “Proposal for a National Academic Festival” with sub-head “Developing a Culture for Intellectualism.”
Initial response to it is heartwartming. Former Commissioner on Higher Education Ester Garcia, now UE president, told us “it’s an idea whose time has come.”

MANNY Pacquiao was in the news recently for having suddenly decided to leave his training camp in Los Angeles, California.

The people’s champ was supposed to train in Los Angeles for his October 7 fight against Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Why he suddenly left for home stunned everybody, including Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s American trainer.
Naturally, rumors flew wild and thick.

Regarding Mayor Resuello’s cracking whip on delinquent employees he should also instill, “Produce or get reduced”.
Better yet, since each department head has his/her budget, individual employees shall perform under a project number to market and sell their shared services.
Oooh… I could already envision people in bed with one another to hoodwink the system. Lotsaluck, Mayor!
