Having dreams does not hurt but committing precious public funds for an international airport due to political posturing should wake up every kabaleyan.

Thank you Ms. Jara when you were questioning the capacity and the demand for the international airport. I hope those who are proposing these ideas look at some case studies of profitable airlines.

Here in the US, South West Airlines does not even announce a city pair destination without the capacity study or unless incentives are given by the communities they operate in.

FEDEX took years to study the Philippines as a hub of operations for the Asian Pacific region. Success follows good research.

What is the forecasted pull of the demand of this international airport to be viable and not be another white elephant? Has the tourism department given tourist numbers to even get close to Boracay? Do we even have any long term commitment from a single major airline to operate there? Who are our target customers? Should the government answer these same questions that corporation answers before getting funding on their enterprise and business plan?

I could see projects not showing business profits in the building of sports stadiums, art museums, and convention centers because it lifts our spirits. But who would be lifted or benefited by the building of this airport?

I know several well off kabaleyan who would pay for the convenience but remember the Concorde could not be sustained for the rich people's convenience only.

For those kabaleyan who think having an airport in Alaminos would help your wallet think again. Do a fare check of your departure airport to Laoag or Diosdado Macapagal Airport. If the results are cheaper fare then let’s support the proposal. Otherwise, this should wake us up from our nightmare.
