It’s about trying

My maiden name starts with the letter T, Mr. Pontaoe, for “trying”. I could have sworn you’ve at least picked up on that. Pollyanna or not, it would be really scary to not try anything new. Often enough, self-efficacy saves our sanity.

On this Pangasinan dialect on its way to being extinct business. I have to admit, I can’t find the numbers anywhere, but suffice it to say Pangasinan speakers are decreasing. Every time I go back, I have to go out of my way to find people who speak Pangasinan, be it in church, at the market, malls, or restaurants. Even the sidewalk vendors in Dagupan struggle with the dialect.

Gov. Espino is trying to make a difference and like I said earlier, he will make mistakes. That’s a given. To expect him or anyone else for that matter to not make mistakes demonstrates some level of superiority complex.

After all, can you name a single leader who did not make any mistake? We’ve been here before and yes, I have just woken up from a blissful nap. You oughta’ try it, Mr. Pontaoe
