Dear Ms. Marifi Jara, I can not fathom why are you disturbed by the American flag draped over Sgt. Correa's coffin? Is honoring a hero disturbing to you?

You appear to be a decent journalist so you probably don't mind explaining why. May I suggest to you that you should wake up and learn from history of the contributions that the American GI's have given to you directly or indirectly?

If not for the American GI, you will be speaking Nippongo! May I also remind you that ALL U.S. military service members at this time are VOLUNTEERS? Serving in the military has its risks, including death.

I pay my respects to Sgt. Correa and to all who had served or presently serving in the US military. I know that it hurts to see a young life end so early but it's a fact of life.

Thousands of American GI's had died in the past, and many more will in the future. Your attempt to lecture about US politics leaves a lot to the imagination. You quoting Jimmy Carter is an exercise in humor.

For your information, Carter is the most incompetent US president in recent history. He is the reason why all these Islamic fundamentalist are here today. If Carter had the balls then when the Iranians took over the American embassy in Iran, he would have bombed that country back to the stone age. Then the Islamic fundamentalists will not be here today.

What should you tell your children about Iraq? Try reading about politics, religion and history then formulate your answer. Should you just sit there and let others decide the outcome for you or you should participate and influence how your way of life should be? And your choice is ____?

This is coming from someone who is very proud to have served in the US military. I wish that I will be given the full military honors too when my time comes, and that INCLUDES THE U.S. FLAG, Ms. Jara.
