WATER QUALITY TEST AFTER FISHKILL? What is the use of the test after fishkill? To confirm that there was low dissolved oxygen?
Of course, there was low dissolved oxygen before the fish started dying and will be much lower immediately after the fishkill because the rotting fish will consume most of the dissolve oxygen in the river water.
If those in charge of monitoring are not IDIOTS, are they not supposed to monitor the water quality on a routine basis and more frequent during dry season or shall we say during the "OVERLOADING, OVERSTOCKING, OR GREEDINESS SEASON"?
The visual observation of the river and the fish inside the fishpens will give some telltale signs of impending disaster to an observant person experienced in fish culture.
Since GREED AND CORRUPTION are the root cause of the problem of fishkill and those in power are part of it, I believe that ANNUAL FISHKILL can become the SOLUTION.
I say, it is GOD's way of teaching those who are greedy and corrupt. If the greedy fishpen owners are going to lose money which means the corrupt government officials will not be given the annual bribe money, then the fishpens will disappear.
What a way to solve a problem.
