Greed leads to self-destruction

Mr. Castanaga:

We crave for the same food and I would imagine that most Filipinos love to eat the same food too. And its abundance is being diminished and sooner or later it may be a thing of the past.

And you are right to the point-the solution to the pollution problem is simple which is the effective enforcement of the laws, rules and regulations, and if such laws are not adequately protecting the environment, amend it. It may require establishment of implementing rules and regulations, but it is going to be good for everybody.

To enforce the laws, the enforcers must not be CORRUPT. I am just sad that the poor people greatly affected by the exploitation of the rivers since there are no more fish for them to catch are not even up in arms.

As I have said, let us not wait for someone to solve the problem irrationally by poisoning the entire river systems. The GREEDY FISHPEN OWNERS in concert with the CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS are poisoning the river systems themselves though by overstocking. Their greed is leading them to self destruction and the destruction of the entire river systems ecology.

Now there are also the GREEDY piggery, poultry and factory owners who do not want to put up the infrastructure to contain their waste and who are actually the first polluters before the fish pens came into existence.

Those in power better solve these problems before some irate citizens solve the problems by other means. It may become ugly or deadly.

I hope the new governor has the "SPINES" to do something about these problems. As my late father use to say: "Eating hot rice is harder than these problems".
