A shady deal from inception

Mr. Castanaga,
That Magsaysay project was a shady deal from its inception. Those "responsible adults" in the city hall as you say it, are so deeply mired in crap that they now, don't know how to extricate themselves.
They thought they could pull a fast one on the people of Dagupan. Thanks to the people like Mr. Ermin Garcia, Jr. for putting it all in the open.
May I ask you, what is so hard about opening the books and showing the citizens how this business was done? I suspect that these thieves in the city hall can't even do that for fear that people will see how incompetent and unethical they are.
If you have been reading Mr. Garcia's columns you should know all about the discrepancies leading to that project. I can only guess that there was a substantial amount of money that went to some people's pockets at the expense of the people of Dagupan. I can only hope that the new city government will have the BALLS and the GUTS to rectify the anomaly. They could set the tone on how they will govern.
C'mon, Mr. Castanaga, you're a lot smarter than that… Are you saying that since the cost of the Magsaysay project is less than the "overpriced" projects, it is then okay? So then, we should just forget the ethical issues and the responsibility to do good for the people and just let this project go.
Who runs the city anyway, the MetroState company? For now, it looks like that way as the NO ONE in the city hall has the guts to stop this project even when they have every legal right to do so.
I agree with you that there's a lot of infrastructure that Pangasinan needs BUT there is no excuse for kickbacks and corruption. The government officials should be responsible and look out for the people.
"Cool ka lang" to me means not saying or not doing anything even you see something so anomalous right in front of you. Is that your idea of good governance, Mr. Castanaga?
