As we follow the current events unfolding in the country, we can easily see and feel the excessive burden and unnecessary yoke overloading the country and its people. Filipinos should be blessed with successes instead of being dogged with misfortunes. It is a pity, a great shame and disappointment if religious leaders could become parts of the overwhelming problems instead of becoming parts of the badly needed solutions.

A well-known American pastor was right on target when he said, “When government and church begin to mix, you got a problem. It’s like mixing ice cream with horse manure: You will not ruin the horse manure, but it will ruin the ice cream. I think to mix the church and state is to, in fact, put the church in a compromising position.”

Godspeed to all.

Mr. Pontaoe’s Believe It Or Not: JDV is “honest and clean and clear as the first rain of May”. 007 says “you must be joking”.

I wonder though if you are only trying to provoke the readers’ reaction or it is really your honest opinion of the person.

It is not too late to congratulate the members of the Sunday Punch Editorial staff for having been awarded the Best Editing Award. There are hundreds of journalists being killed all over the Philippines-not headline news.

To the members of the Sunday Punch staff; YOU ARE LIVING HEROES. It is tough to speak of truth because you could be killed like Ermin Garcia Sr. His son, brother and all of you in Sunday Punch are taking the pressure graciously-amazing passion for journalism.

I admire you all.

“For he’s the Jolly good fellow, for he’s the Jolly good fellow For he’s the Jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny Which nobody can deny, that nobody can deny For he’s the Jolly good fellow, for he’s the Jolly good fellow For he’s the Jolly good fellow, which nobody can deny”

May you rest in God’s peace and comfort, Jolly good fellow. When good men die their goodness does not perish, but lives though they are gone. As for the bad, all that was theirs dies and is buried with them.” - Euripides
