PSA meet starts on May 2

The Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA), Inc.'s annual mid-year convention will open on May 2 with the pre-convention-Tagisan ng Talino elimination round for Luzon at 9 am at the City de Luxe.

In the afternoon, there will be a Philippine Society for Pediatric Anesthesia workshop. The welcome dinner and formal opening ceremonies will be held starting at 6 pm.

May 3-4 will be the convention proper with the following program:

May 3: - 7:00 am - Registration; 9:00 am - Morning session: Lectures: Intra-operative fluid management in pediatric patients and 10:00 am - Walking epidural; 10:45 am - Opening of trade exhibits with House Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr. and wife Gina; 11:30 am - Luncheon symposium.

Afternoon session: Debate - 1:00 pm - Local anesthetic cocktails for regional anesthesia; 2:00 pm - Case discussion - Anesthesia for awake craniotomy: How is it done?: Lecture - Alpha 2 agonist and the art of sedation and analgesia; 3:00 pm - Panel discussion - What to do after an adverse outcome? 3:40 pm - Disclosure issues; 6:00 pm - Fellowship night.

May 4: - 7:00 am - Registration; 9:00 am - Morning session: Case discussion - Intra-operative arrythmias and Panel discussion - Economics and ethics of the professional fee: How do we charge?; 11:15 am Closing ceremonies.

On May 5, there will be a post-convention activity involving a tour around the Hundred Islands in Alaminos.
