Difference between dreaming and doing

Moving on, something in Ms. Visperas’ last column again struck my RIBS the wrong way. It’s actually a quote from Ms. Kimi Cujuangco . “Don’t lose hope. Keep on dreaming. Don’t let what happened to you become your stumbling block,” she said. I hope that somewhere in that speech she also asked these kids to start doing something with their lives.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with dreaming, in fact dream high, as high as their minds would let them. But at some point, reality has to set in. These are kids who have had their share of challenges at such a young age. To encourage them to just dream would be doing them disservice. They need to look around, learn from all their challenges, and move on. Aspire to be someone by getting an education or getting a job. They need to learn how to apply themselves by DOING rather than mere dreaming.
