Yung subok sa serbisyo

There has been much debate going on regarding the political aspirants in our province. And rightly so, since the future of our province will be at their hands.

But first, let us get our facts straight. Let us examine their track records for this is the only way to fairly judge a candidate. And mind you, it should be the candidate's OWN track record, not the track record of a husband or a father. You can never inherit someone else's record of service. You have to prove your own worth.

In the coming elections, who will you vote for? The candidate whose only claim to fame is his or her husband/father's track record? Or the candidate who has proved his/her worth through years of dedicated service?

For me, I will choose the latter. Doon ako sa subok na ang serbisyo. Ayoko ng kandidato na aasa lamang sa kanyang asawa o ama. What if, God forbid, the husband or father dies? What will happen to us? We will be left in the dark.

I cannot blame other people here for being pessimistic. But for a change, let us try and do what we can to better our situation. Every little bit helps. Let us stop the negativity, our country has had enough of that. It is ok to point out flaws and imperfections in politics and our politicians, but do not forget to also suggest a solution. It might just work. Criticizing while not being able to suggest a solution is the mark of a fool. My suggestion is for us to vote wisely. That is the first step to a better future.
