Mr. Pontaoe,

You seem to act as in authority to judge politicians. You sound so negative to all ideas brought up in this forum. Are you acting as “devil’s advocate”?

I do not seem to agree with you regarding Vice Gov. Lambino. First of all, I believe, there is nothing wrong in dreaming big for the good of Pangasinan. It is very unfair to question his ability to “deliver”. Give him a chance to sit at Urduja before you give your conclusion! You are so smart to know that being a Vice Governor, he has limited power to execute and deliver for the good of Pangasinan. I really wish he would be elected to prove you wrong!

Check his records as the mayor of Malasiqui. I would not go in details but his records proved you well the good governance he has executed for the town. He received positive reviews from his constituents.

I do not want to argue with you because of your right to have opinion but give this man a chance! His records will speak!

Mr. Ermin Garcia, Jr. We get it. Mr. Benjie Lim, your one and only favorite mayor, is a scoundrel of a politician. He gives new meaning to the word corrupt almost on a weekly basis from what you write about him. This guy is definitely taking a beating.

My question would be, would you give this man an equal space on this paper, if he had something to say? Mayor Lim, Why not come out, face you public, and stop this nonsense? For crying out loud, do you think that little of your public that to actually fight for what you believe in isn’t worth it? Or do you have anything left worth fighting for?

(Editor’s Reply: Yes, by all means. My favorite mayor can always have my column space for his response. The PUNCH already published one reply from the city administrator in full in the past).

The Pista’y Dayat festival SHOULD NOT BE HELD UNTIL THERE IS A FULL ACCOUNTING OF THE EXPENDITURES FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE. Let public pressure force or embarrass the offending parties into doing the right thing. I suspect a big chunk of the monies spent on the last one ended up in the pockets of those refusing to account for the expenses. What do you have to say, Councilors Aquino and Reyna? The public deserves better. This is one of the reasons why there should be a day counter in the Punch to show the period of INACTION of these public servants.

Mr. Miguel Bulatao,

What’s the uproar on Jamie Agbayani’s candidacy? You’re right when you said, ‘They are power hungry and in 9 years of being governor Victor did not have the luxury of time to finish what he started’. And Jamie, his wife, running for that office to continue what was left behind is a very lame excuse. There’s more than meets the eye. I grant you that.

Comes Oca Lambino with a dream bigger than his ego. His hallucination for Pangasinan is like a goat farting in the barn. Can he deliver? What kind of guarantee can he give Pangasinenses that if elected governor he can do magic with a wave of his hands? Remember, Mr. Bulatao, Lambino is a cut from the same broad cloth like Victor Agbayani. Participated in every political machination at Urduja. His fingerprints are in the cookie jar. Was privy to what Victor Agbayani had in his brains. What makes him so different from Jamie Agbayani if get elected?

On what you said; Oscar Lambino is power hungry, too, like the hyena waiting his chance to take a bite off the carcass of that political animal we call Pangasinan. To me, Lambino, like the Agbayanis, is just a part of the cog trying hard to bleed Pangasinan dry. Nothing changing.

Well, the land Palaris becoming a free political zone changes the playing field. Every nutso and the most colorful running for governor. It must be a plum job worth plucking.

Mr. Jose Ceralde,

I beg to differ with you. What’s being discussed here is not of demography or geography, its politics. Sorry.

With a believable component of candidates for town councilors, Reynaldo Velasco should have a shot in kicking out ex-mayor Carlito Zaplan once and for all from Sta. Barbara politics. The line-up is mostly people associated with Carlito Zaplan except Ampoy Ocampo who won a slot in the last elections against his wife Jinxky. These people jumped ship which means the Zaplan ship is full of holes and sinking.

If this situation wouldn’t change which according to some sources Zaplan is broke, nothing in this world with all the powers of LCMD party and Biskeg of Villar can help Zaplan survive. What a disgraceful end to a political career whose abandonment by people he could trust, is complete and absolute. United they stand divided they fall.

Time for change. The town needs a newly minted cook who can deliver the menu out of incompetence. Sta. Barbarians haven’t seen the result envisioned by Zaplan for 9 long years of mayorship plus 3 years by a wife who did nothing but sat on her butt.

Now, I can say with utmost certainty and honesty Velasco will be the next mayor of Sta. Barbara. It can be said and truly believable that a person of Velasco is long time coming. Give Rey Velasco a chance to serve his town where he was born. His experience in administration in the rarified air of government is more than enough a qualification to get elected.

It’s time for the people of Sta. Barbara to discard those signs demanding a giveaway…an up and up election and let the truth comes out. Let the election of Reynaldo Velasco a vicissitude…a new leaf in the quiescent and inept political environment Sta. Barbara has become.

Pinoys are much better off than the countries visited by Mr. Isidro Ramos in spite of being the most corrupt in Asia. The same evaluation was done by Dr. Ex, so the Pinoys are still OK if they will sell their votes this coming election and graft and corruption can still continue to worsen because the Philippines is not at the bottom ranking yet(126 out of 165 nations) and only the most corrupt in ASIA. Don’t worry, be happy, sing and dance forever and a day, just listen, or read the advice of the two most prominent evaluator of the living conditions of people around the world. Ayos lang mga kababayan, basta wala kayong problema habang ang pangulo ay si GMA.
