Ramon, I share your disgust on the quality of the candidates. Only in the Philippines that anyone without brains (just to make my point) but is good looking, can dance and can sing could be elected, never mind that they don't know about being a leader and a manager.

Senator Lito Lapid. crap! There goes the Pinoy electorate… People from other countries probably are wondering what's wrong with the Filipino voter. The people could only speculate why would a wife, son, or daughter would run for an office being vacated by the father. An unfinished business perhaps? They might have found that being in office is a lucrative business, they're making money off poor Juan Delacruz's back.

An email of one Harvey S. Keh to Postcript column by Federico Pascual Jr. on the Philippine Star (www.philstaronline.com) on February 15 sums it all up. I believe the Forum readers would find it an interesting reading.

My respects for Mr. Hernani Braganza for speaking his mind about the status of Philippine politics today. I hope that he reconsiders and continue serving the people in the future. With his knowledge of inner workings of the inept and corrupt establishment (the Arroyo administration), he could be a force to help the Philippines to a new direction. What do you say, Mr. Braganza?
