SANTILLAN POWERS UPANG SQUAD
BUGALLON son Bryan Santillan, ably supported by his teammates, scored a game high 22 points, leading the University of Pangasinan Webczars to an 83-75 victory over the La Union squad during a basketball goodwill match held January 20 at the Villasis gymnasium, Villasis town.
The La Union quintet, reinforced by ex-Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players Cris Bolado and Jun Marzan working the defense and former Philippine Basketball League (PBL) dribblers Melvin Fontanilla and Manny Ortega at the helm in the scoring, took the first quarter lead, 19-16, but relinquished the pace at the half by a mere point, 40-39, with spitfire Santillan doing the damage converting 11 points with three out of four treys plus a short jumper and Linel Manalo supporting with 10 points.
The goodwill game was in conjunction with the celebration of the Villasis town fiesta sponsored by the host municipal government and the Abono party list group under the auspices of Engr. Rosendo So and assisted by Villasis former hizzoner Ramon Morden.
