I cannot understand why some religious leaders are taking part in an activity that feeds the wrong food for our thoughts and spirits. As members of religious organizations, they should know by heart that it is not the word of politicians that is essential to our spiritual growth and developments but the Word of God, the food of our souls. I cannot also understand why profitable businesses of religious organizations have tax holidays fully protected by the constitution which I believe is a direct disobedience to our Lord Jesus Christ who said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
I hope I am wrong but I have the strong feeling that they are trying to protect this inappropriate constitutional privilege of free taxes by tactically opposing vigorously the badly needed national reforms proposed by Charter Change (Cha-Cha) proponents and people’s initiatives. It will be interesting to know how much uncollected free tax money is involved annually nationwide. I will not be surprised if it will be sufficient to help those who are in dire need financially or to help in our fight against poverty.
Oh, it’s a holiday………….cha-cha-cha. Paying Taxes to Caesar (Mark 12:13-17) 13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Jesus to catch Him in His words. 14 They came to Him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? 15 Should we pay or shouldn't we?" But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. "Why are you trying to trap me?" he asked. "Bring me a denarius and let me look at it." 16 They brought the coin, and He asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied. 17 Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at Him.
