Keep on dreaming

Jeremias Andrade Carrera
19 Jan 2007

To PEOPLE WHO LOVE FANTASY:

Enjoy dreaming, forget reality and only wake up to face reality when it becomes impossible survive the enormity of the problems.

So, as suggested by the dreamer, forget the corrupt politicians and greedy businessmen because they are few and there are millions and millions of Filipinos with good heart and there is Jesus Christ and God who will solve all the problems of the Filipinos. We must then sing and dance forever in a day to celebrate the good things about the Philippines, never mind the corrupt because they are few, as long as there are more good people.

I wonder how will those hungry Filipinos react if they read this message. Keep on DREAMING MY DEAR FILIPINOS WITH GOOD HEART, it will fill your hungry STOMACH.

Edwin, if you understood from what I have said was we (Filipinos) looked like secondary citizens with the work of some kiss ass politicians who bow their heads to what American desires. I am a Filipino and I do not depict myself as a second-class citizen either but with the decision of perverted politicians, we all suffer. It is a good wishful thinking for Smith that he might be back to Philippine authority, nonetheless the odds will not be in our favor anymore. He is in American land now enjoying a free life.

Yes…..you can cast absentee ballot in Philippine elections while you’re out the country or living outside of it. Residency is not required as long as you have a valid Philippine passport. According to the consulate here in Chicago, dual citizens can vote.

The catch. The consulate doesn’t send ballots to your place of residence. You must show your face on Election Day. So, a Filipino who lives in Louisiana or Nebraska will have a problem. Making the run, is it worth it? I don’t know about the people of the PCG Frisco but I can vouch for the employees at the PCG Chicago. You can still get in touch with them. Very accommodating.

On the contrary, Mr. Carrera, you are the one who needs to wake up. I might be daydreaming at times but, at the very least, I always have high hopes and dreams for our beloved country, Philippines. Do you?

I respectfully disagree with you when you said, “Philippines became a nation of scoundrels and scalawags long time ago.” As far as I can remember, the country was always a nation of good people with good hearts, millions upon millions of them and definitely never became a nation of scoundrels and scalawags. It will never become a nation of those kinds of people. They are totally outnumbered by the millions. They have no place in our society. They can always try to take control but their real intentions and true colors will be exposed. They have no place to hide in the more than 7000 islands and islets of the country as long as more than 80 million people are vigilant to their illegal and criminal activities and will do their share as Filipino citizens. Evil doers will never succeed.

Maybe the difference in our opinion can be attributed to the way we look at things. Obviously, we are looking at the country from a different perspective. From my point of view, I am enjoying the beauty of the country and its people, whereas, you seem to be enjoying the ugliness beyond that beauty just like some other blind people I came to know. Wake up and open your eyes, Mr. Carrera, in case you are having a nightmare while making your recent posting.

An effective cleansing operation should include reinstating the death penalty, which if I’m not mistaken, was canceled by the wimp labandera Gloria Arroyo to woo the criminal loving clergy.

If it was up to me, all the death row inmates should be executed before sun up tomorrow, all the corrupt politicians and anybody else who had abused their authority should be next. That also includes the members of the clergy who had abused their followers. All this prayer rallies that these religious and political leaders participate in is a sham to make the poor Pinoy that these so called leaders are really working to make the Pinoy life better.

Woe to the Pinoy that he had been waiting for the Almighty to set things right for him. The Pinoy had forgotten that he has his own free will to make things right for himself and the society. Do you think the Pinoy will ever be able to figure that out? Name me an incorruptible political leader and that’s a good start.
