Ford's lesson for GMA

Americans lost one of its leaders recently. His is not the shortest term, but his is a legacy just as well. He wasn’t elected, but he performed his duty far and beyond anyone’s expectations. He may have declared the two most unpopular decisions in the history of US, but he did it to heal a nation divided. He gave up any hope he had on getting another shot at being a president for his country. He sacrificed his ambitions for his people.

President Arroyo can take a lesson or two from President Ford. Filipinos are willing to entertain the idea of charter change through ConAss or ConCon, if and when she takes her name out of the running. Her actions suggest that her ambitions far outweigh the need of her country, the call of her people.
