One credible source for Charter Change

Re: Punchline

Your discussions on your column were very informative, we have heard somebody on the Radio Program of Mr. Val Domingo at 738 khz am DWRB about 10-12am, a municipal councilor from San Mateo Rizal who speaks well about the necessities of changing the constitution. He is the only speaker we’ve heard that talks of substance and facts about the constitution. His name is Dr. Rodolfo John O. Teope, PhD, EdD. He doesn’t even talk as a politician, he even declared on radio that he has no plan to go back to politics. That guy is very good.

Corruption is medication

Leopoldo A. Cabrera MD FAAP
20 Dec 2006

Gonz, I really admire you for voicing the opinion of the masses. I am not from Dagupan as you know but my late brother Atty. Rolly Cabrera spent most his days in Dagupan. During those days Dagupan was so peaceful… with no too much drama which was scripted. Is this political fever? And medication is corruption?

By the way, regards to my batchmate, Pingoy.

Could this be Alvin?

Jess Delfin
20 Dec 2006

Did Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez finally wake up? Or has his blindness been cured that he can finally see the rampant corruption in the city hall after all these years? Or is he just getting himself more visible for a higher office? Could it be that he is just laying a smokescreen and trying to disassociate himself from the crooks in the city council that he has been a member of? What is your real motive, Mr. Vice Mayor?

Shall we have a toast and say, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!” for your recently acquired crusade? Whatever it is, I hope you are not another “NINGAS COGON” like so many Filipino political leaders are infamously known for.

A challenge to all public servants: Perform your jobs and serve the public, be accountable for your actions, and be transparent in all the decisions you make. DO NOT LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL FROM THE PEOPLE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE.

Any comment from the Dagupan City council is welcome.
