TWELVE minors were arrested by the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) on Galvan street last Tuesday while they were sniffing rugby, a pasting substance that has delusionary effects when inhaled.

Rugby, an adhesive substance, is freely sold in hardware stores.

POSO chief Robert Erfe-Mejia said the children included 10 boys and two girls aged 10 to 12, all identified as belonging among the city’s abandoned street children.

The suspects were members of the ‘rugby boys’ group, so-called because of their long habit of sniffing rugby.

Mejia turned over the children to the City Social Welfare Office after processing proper documentation. — AQL
