HARVEST TIME BY DR. SOSIMO MA. PABLICO:I humbly request Dr. Pablico to get a copy of the ten(10) feasibility studies conducted by the PhilRice Researchers to read and analyze, and understand if indeed those studies are based on validated and established scientific data and then share it with us through his column. I am interested if the 10 feasibility studies had considered the fuel consumed in the loading and transport of the rice husk from the various mills to the generation plant, the rice husk transport within the plant, auxiliary fuel for start-up in the calculation of the estimated 1,389,888 liters per hour of diesel fuel saved. Is the well-educated Doctors Pablico and Tadeo serious that such amount of fuel is really saved? Please tell us where do you find an alternate fuel to run the power plant when the HARVEST is not that good such as when there is a typhoon, drought, or extreme calamities. What are the incentives and what laws are required to be enacted cited in the 10 feasibility studies. How are the incentives from the government shared by the millers and the power plant owner/operator? Who will store the “VOLUMINOUS” rice husk during “HARVEST TIME”? I will appreciate very much if the good DOCTOR can tell me what power plant operates “12-hours-22-day” of the month with the unusual sizes of 9.24, 9.9, or 5.2 megawatt.
