I agree 100 percent with Bluedragon3450@aol.com’s comment. Let us stop using the word “Pangalatok” to refer to people of Pangasinan. People from Pangasinan are called “Pangasinense”. Pangalatok” is a slang word that is demeaning and derogatory to Pangasinense. Pangalatok means “Pangasinense Sira Toktok”. Some people even use words like “Pangalatot” which means something from the word ”Utot” (fart) or from the word “kantu… (you know what I mean). ”Pangalatok” or “Pangalatot” are demeaning and derogatory and insulting words to Pangasinense.

Dear Bluedragon3450@aol.com - thank you so much for joining an informal campaign to “Stop Usage of The Word Pangalatok: It Is Derogatory and Demeaning Words For Pangasinense ”

Dear Anne - probably you don’t mean to insult Pangasinenses by using the word “Pangalatok”. A lot of people are not aware of the fact that “Pangalatok or Pangalatot” are derogatory words for Pangasinense. Even kids routinely use it. However, with the use of internet we can eradicate this “wrong choice of word” in calling people from Pangasinan. Thanks for Sunday Punch Forum. This “Pangalatok or Pangalatot” word will soon slowly efface on the minds of a great number of people.

Dear Precious Pangasinense - let us unite for this simple educational campaign. It is easy. Whenever you see & hear these bad words, correct and explain right away.
