A prodigy in her own right

Ms. Ric
16 August 2006

Samantha Revita is indeed a prodigy in her own right. It’s refreshing to know parents this involved with their child’s welfare, physically and mentally. I hope this seven-year-old never loses sight of her focus, determination, and hard work. Hat’s off to Sammy and Gloria Revita for letting their daughter hold on to her childhood, while sharpening her talent. Wouldn’t it be something if the next Kramnik is from our very own backyard? Good luck, God bless, and Congratulations to this 7-yr-old phenomenon!

What makes a cheat….

Ms. Ric
16 August 2006

There’s a difference between being handed a cheat sheet without asking for it and asking for a cheat sheet knowing that it is indeed a cheat sheet. We all agree that the latter is a cop out - dishonesty no matter how you dress it up. The question now is, what do you do after you discover that it is indeed cheated materials. Do you step forward and clear your conscience or do you live with this lie for the rest of your life?

One more note on this fiasco: Why were these candidates even allowed in the building with anything but an identification card? Tests are compromised everyday, but it seems this governing body “allows” it to happen.
