Archbishop Cruz, I believe you and other church official should keep out of governmental affairs. Cardinal Sin was the major player in the downfall of the Marcos Government and what was accomplished? Are the Filipinos really better off now after the fall of Marcos? The peso is down and the Filipinos have to leave the country and take abuses to earn a decent living. How much of this was caused by the Church’s anti-Marcos positions?

Instead, Your Eminence, when you see a hungry child who has six or more siblings, you should be rethinking the Church’s position on birth-control. Remember, God cannot provide for all. Also, it is laughable that the church will dissolve a marriage if those seeking a separation/divorce are large contributors to the church. Just look at the movie stars and other wealthy individuals. The Church readily allows them to break their marriage vows although their marriages have been consummated and have produced multiple offspring. Meanwhile, those without influence (money) with the Church are forced to live in sin and many times forced to abandon children of their “legal” spouses.

Again, Your Eminence, improve the welfare of your flock, try to change the outmoded laws of the Church, and keep your nose out of affairs that is not within the realms of the church. Remember, where the Church exceeded their influence they have had to go underground.

Oh, yes, I have TWO children who have never known a day of hunger because of responsible planned parenting and thank God I have been blessed with my one and only wife for over 40 years.
