There you go, Jun Velasco. It’s a beauty watching you how you twisted words making them as scary as possible. Your one-sided view of the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon with sprinkler of religiosity is not only a mediocrity on simple matters of journalistic reporting but also an insult to what is acceptable.

Megiddo? Armageddon? What in hell are you talking about? To inject these apocalyptic incidents waiting to happen, when it cannot be circumstantiated, tells us of what kind of journalism you are in.

Let’s go back to Israel’s wars, which were full scale wars, not this Hezbollah thing I cogitate a skirmish. The wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973 can be considered as full scale wars (according to your specifications) when sovereign states were involved. You must clarify, too, the root of the problem why this “war” erupted in the first place, not condemning Israel with your words like “merciless bombarding and pounding Lebanon”. Seemed like you blamed Israel for the flight of those OFW’s working in Lebanon.

What are they doing there in the first place? The Arroyo government should tell them from the get-go the volatility of the situation in the Middle East that at any given moment a shootout between the Israelites and the Arabs could erupt. And now, you are crying over spilled milk for the safety of those Filipinos stranded in Hell. Go tell Arroyo to provide transport to bring them back to Manila like any government with people in Lebanon.

You can pray all you want. If prayers really work, God in all His mercy should stop this bloodletting… it’s His chosen people anyway.
