What happened to cop & victim?

Wonder what would have happen if one of the victims was not a ranking policeman. Is it really that bad that a cop thinks he could get away because he is a cop? No wonder we always hear the president had to push orders to make civil servants comply with the laws of the land. How about a follow-up story so we could see how justice is administered when the offended has power and the other victim’s fate has not been determined.
