Are ordinary Filipinos in general and government officials in particular beyond redemption? Are we too far gone that no amount of goodwill and wholesale brain re-tooling can overturn our decline? It was reported several men assigned at NAIA customs got their pink slips. This after discovery of some 19 millions worth of gems found missing? In short, these men were like coyotes given the task of guarding chicken pens. In local lingo, it is what you call ‘bantay salakay’. There was also another report of pricey elephant tusk missing from storage? I bet some fatso customs official must be having a helluva time at Lexus Nite spot spending money like Niagara Falls. These while a good number of our countrymen live in squalid and inhumane conditions. We have a fake president who would not hesitate jailing people who opposes her idiotic leadership. She and family together with ardent bootlickers rubber stampers goes on a junket disguised as goodwill trip to benefit the country kuno na naman. Problem is, what happened to the billions of dollars and business ventures she bragged, countries she visited, committed as goodwill gesture and recognization of her leadership? The Kapangpangans have a wonderful word to describe Gloria Pidal Arrovo - ‘Paratut’ ay katawan ateng ko. Not only do our public officials steal from us, when they don’t want things exposed, they burn things to the ground. Reminded me how Manila International Airport got burned to the ground because some corrupt public officials wanted to cover up their crimes? How many more times will corrupt local and national officials have to resort to burning markets and city halls to hide anomalies? Malala na yatang talaga. Do you wonder what Gloria Pidal Arrovo will be bragging on her SONA (S-cophants O-nly N-eed A-ttend)?
