You could write volumes regarding this topic that you just brought up. Like you, I also favor a strict separation of Church and State although that WILL NOT happen. I love the country I was born in and I carry with me a lot of its idiosyncrasies, the intertwining of Church and State affairs being one of them.

Funny thing that we, especially those of the Catholic Religion (and I am one), profess deep devotion to the Omnipotent Being and will always, at any time, seek divine guidance and then immediately turn around and consult a Feng Shui expert. Go figure.
