If you trace the evolution of these fraternities in Dagupan you can conclude that the root of this thuggery in action was the Old Dalton Gang of Dagupan Colleges (U of Pangasinan).

This gang of students, policemen and professionals was organized to scare and intimidate poor students from outlying towns of Pangasinan and it was alleged that they tried to collect street tax as protection from local businessmen.

What befuddled everybody why an organization was named after the notorious bank robbers of Oklahoma? Is it because that manhood can be proven to the outmost when in the practice of notoriety? A poppycock? Well, it must be. Filipinos are prone to duplicity.

These fraternities that proliferates the academic landscape are there not to establish a social group to promote learning in the universities and colleges, but to initiate hooliganism basing on the old order.

It is the job of the administrators of those universities and colleges like the likes of GONZALO DUQUE, to impose discipline and order in a chaotic situation. Infraction of school regulations should be dealt with harsh approach. Boot them out.

Without the show of force on this issue, these thugs which I think sons of prominent members of Dagupan society… which makes the City Council adamant on this problem…there will be no end in sight.
