When you encouraged the posters to donate to the Forum for its continuance, it was highly appreciated.

Better said than done, Ms. Ric.

Where is that donation you promised?

As a newbie you are, we are not expecting an amount that will blow the Forum out of the water.

Just a reasonable amount to keep it alive.

(Editor’s Comment: In fairness to Ms. Ric, she wrote us to say she sent her check thru the mail. We will acknowledge her enlistment as Kabaleyan member soon as we receive her check. Again, thank you for your and other posters’ support).

To the Sunday Punch,

Since May 14, 2006 (Mother’s Day) I couldn’t call my mom in the Philippines. I have already called the PLDT four times!!! But they couldn’t fix it till now!!! It will be 6 weeks till June 25. I told them I will not pay the monthly rate for not using the telephone. PLDT has not rendered a performance, why should I pay for it? Can you help explain why the telephone is not functioning?

(Editor’s Reply: Over the past months, both PLDT and DIGITEL have been suffering from a series of cable thefts by a syndicate, resulting in disruption of service of many phone subscribers almost every week. We have been reporting this in our past issues.
This is the dilemma of government today…they can’t seem to stop the syndicate. If I may suggest, you may be better off supplying your residence here with a cellphone momentarily).
