Panelco III workers seek higher wages

URDANETA CITY - Despite persistent of the clamor personnel of the Pangasinan Electric Cooperative III (Panelco III) based in the city, no wage increase is forthcoming.

This was gleaned from Panelco III General Manager Neri Palsima who said that

their operations will suffer if they give in to the clamor of employees for salary increase in view of the company’s present financial condition.

Palsima said that PANELCO III, being a a non-stock and non- profit organization, its revenues must be used for the expansion and development of lines to improve its service to consumers.

Palsima pointed out that before they can consider raising salary levels, the management has to cope with and negotiate the exorbitant business tax being collected by the city government.

The head office of Panelco III is located in Urdaneta City.

Meanwhile, he said the board of directors is now finding waysto grant the same even with the present financial constraints.

The employees of Panelco III are reportedly asking for the implementation of the wage increase approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in the past. - A.P.E
