Re: Stolen phone cablesWhen we were growing up, the word ’steal’ was relatively unknown and was not a pleasant venture to the few who were caught engaging in the business. Life in our country must really be going to the dogs that existing telephone cables and electric lines are not being spared? Officials must do more to contain this raging menace. Otherwise, before we know it, thieves will be stealing anything that moves and has a name attached to it. Perhaps it is time we do what they do in Saudi Arabia whenever someone is caught stealing. In the old west, it was said; ranchers and lawmen organize posses to go after cattle rustlers. As the story goes, the consequence of getting caught was an ugly affair. I am sure the bleeding hearts in our society will be up in arms to think there are people like me so callous to advocate we start stringing thieves to the nearest acacia tree. What do you suggest then we do? Thieves no longer fear getting caught. It is even rumored the reason we have rampant thievery is due to government officials benefiting from it. With lootings going on in government which is deemed part of being in power, I suppose it is safe to assume there maybe some truth to it. But then that’s just me. What about you?
