$64 question

One million dollars of a question is too much even for the Editor to give you an answer.

Let us play it down to a $64 dollar question. Shall we?

Asked the mayor Lim how he addresses the problem. He would tell you….. nothing. Why, because he got no control of what is happening in the rivers before his end.

The tributaries of the Pantal river that feeds it, are the culprits. What you see is only Dagupan, look beyond the horizon Lea, and you would see that the Pantal river is the bottle that collects garbage and the pollutants that were thrown haphazardly.

Mr. Jess Delfin, described the problem in his last post the pollution that deoxygenized the rivers.

Until you can have a working public policy on these tributaries to control their dumping, believe it Lea, it is exercise in futility.

One question we can ask the mayor Lim.

What happened to the river dredger that was supposed to remove the silt in the Pantal river that will allow the unrestricted flow of water into the sea?

Never heard about it since the purchase.

Jueteng, the scourge

Re: Jueteng is back!

The comeback of jueteng is the harbinger of things to come. It means that this scourge…as the Bishop put it…. will stay with the Filipinos as social outlet for survival.

What happened to the law enforcers Lomibao and Purisima? As early as of last month, Governor Agbayani was singing his praises of Purisima that he was the right guy for the position? Looks like he turned tail and went south.

With the emergence of jueteng in the 3rd and the 5th districts something does not smell right. The only thing that will make it possible is the collusion of the mayors, congressmen and the law itself.

It’s possible that it reaches to the inner circle of power in the provincial government. That’s why jueteng cannot be eradicated completely. It survives anything thrown at it because it already created a life of itself…. the cancerous cells of independent blood distribution…. the poor people.

How about STL? Why Agbayani rejected the application in the first place? His reason there must consistent policy? How can you demand consistent policy when everything put on the table he refused to act on it?

Does the governor have his fingers in the jueteng’s cookie jar?

It comes to mind, here in Illinois, the previous governor…. Ryan…was convicted of all indictments. He was supposed to be crime and corruption busting governor. It was all a lie.

Agbayani not far behind?

Different handling

Ms. Ric,
I bet that if Oprah had said that she won’t be eating Bonuan Bangus in her show, most of the Bonuan Bangus importers would already be calling their high profile FIL-AM lawyers before the show is over. It will spawn an industry of litigation just like the big beef case in Texas. Too bad, it’s different how things are handled here and in Dagupan.

Penalty for pollution

The best solution regarding pollution and coliform along Dagupan Rivers is to educate the people. The elected officers of Dagupan government should pass an ordinance that any individual polluting the river is subject to a penalty or imprisonment. All towns in Pangasinan should participate. Also there must be inspection on all the houses erected along the rivers, where their septic tank is constructed. The problem with us is we ‘jingle’ anywhere in PI. Kahit saan dumodumi.
