Re: Coliform in Dagupan waters.

To: Mr. Ermin Garcia, Jr., Again let me commend you for calling for the Dagupan city government officials, namely Mayor Lim, to take action in regards to the pollution in Dagupan waters. As you have correctly pointed out, it’s almost unbelievable that Mr. Lim would equate the brisk sales of bangus to the “no risk of the pollution to the bangus industry or to the health of the consumers”. And to top it off, the city agriculturist Ms. Emma Molina saying the same thing. These two seem NOT to have the people’s best interests in mind. They must be deaf, blind and had lost their sense of smell. Can they fool anyone who had passed by the Dagupan rivers and say that the water is clean?

To: Mayor Lim, Talk is cheap. The people want action. May I remind you that the famous Dagupan bangus will be in jeopardy if you continue to be in denial and do nothing and pretend that the problem does not exist. Facts are facts. No amount of press releases or propaganda will reverse the continued pollution. If you chose to disagree with the water quality findings, you can look at the rivers and smell the water yourself. Or better yet, take Mr. Ermin Garcia Jr.’s challenge and take the city officials with you and drink from the Dawel river. Don’t forget to share with Ms. Emma Molina this worthwhile endeavor.
