I am not bragging. I only brought up my worth because I took offense at Mr. Delfin insinuating that I was mentally challenged. Yes, I bought my house in 1974 for 45K. It is now worth around USD 800K. The other properties we own have appreciated in value. We have a yearly income of over USD100K. Most of the Pinoys I know in the U.S. earn as much or more than I do. I do not own any of the businesses that were mentioned and neither do any of my Filipino friends. We acquired what we have through hard work, sacrifices, good investments and help from the good Lord. I believe that since the Lord has blessed my wife and I, we should share what we have with those less fortunate.

If you have read anything that I have written before you will see that I have always preached togetherness and cooperation with each other. I come to the Philippines and what do I see. Manila in turmoil and political unrest. Money that should be reinvested in the country is either being put in dollar accounts or being invested outside the country. Many Filipinos complain about the ethnic Chinese owning too many businesses in the country. The businesses did not miraculously come to them they worked TOGETHER to form the business. I hate to say it, but one of the traits many in the Philippines have is the lack of cooperation. This is one of the reasons that the in the Philippines you are either rich or you are poor. Too many have the attitude that I have mine, go get your own.

If I have offended anyone by being so candid, I’m truly sorry. I only hope that what I have previously written can bring all the Filipinos together for the good of the country.
