Mr. Pontaoe,
A few months ago, someone made a mistake of throwing cheap shots at your inclusion of your children’s accomplishments in your postings. A few individuals came to your defense, and rightly so. I would have done the same. You see, I am proud to be a Filipino. When I hear of our kabaleyan’s successes, the cheerleader in me kicks in. That is my nature. I see the glass half full.
I do not know Ms. de Venecia personally, but to belittle her accomplishments is an outright insult. Let me assure you that UP Diliman is not full of “the deaf, the mute, and the blind.” It may not be up to par with the prestigious Univ. of Il., but it is touted as one of the best institution of higher learning in the Phil. I’d like to think that she worked her little tail off to graduate cum laude which is certainly a feather in her cap. She has my outmost admiration and respect.
The majority of the posters for Sunday Punch seems to be well versed and well read, including you Mr. Pontaoe (by the way, misspelling your name was an honest mistake). So, how about playing fair for a change? Someone once said, let’s agree to disagree. Hopefully, we can do this without resigning to childish foolishness.
