Councilor Tamayo,

Your proposal maybe based on good intentions but from this end, it appears like a “bola bola” (as a fellow poster had said) or a political stunt to make the overseas Filipino feel they are a part of the lawmaking process.

I say you should clean your house first, Councilor. Is the word “TRANSPARENCY” ever used or discussed during the city council meetings? You can start holding the town meetings in the city plaza where everyone can see what stand each council member takes on issues at hand. None of that closed door hanky panky where people plot and conspire to take advantage of whatever funds is available for themselves and their cronies.

And while you’re on your crusade to make the city a better place to live in, go ahead and fire all those incompetent and corrupt employees as well. Those who had been caught with their hands on the cookie jar should be dispatched without delay.

For your information, investors in the U.S. regularly receive financial statements from their investment firms. Cities do the same. Now, can Dagupan publish financial statements regularly to update the citizenry (taxpayers) on the state of the city? This statement should be able to withstand outsider scrutiny. Again, Councilor: TRANSPARENCY.

Are you up to the challenge, Councilor? Or are you just trying to fool anyone into believing that you are actually doing your job? Which one is it? YOUR NO RESPONSE TO THE OPPOSING VIEWS WILL ONLY CONFIRM THAT YOUR PROPOSAL IS JUST B.S.
