My posting in your Forum about our unpleasant visit to Hundred Islands caught the attention of so many Pangasinenses including people overseas. The media is really a powerful tool for information. Thanks to the Sunday Punch for giving us the opportunity to exercise one of our basic freedoms. The media is also a good tool to use to make people move and do their job.

Based on the reactions of the readers, it seems that my family and I were not the only ones who had a bad experience in the wharf. I know that my comments angered some people. The truth hurts sometimes, but when it is the fact, we should accept and fix it. My intention was to bring the situation to the attention of the officials through the media. I did not complain to the city officials because it is a proven fact that some of them are deaf and blind after the election when it comes helping people, besides our stay in the country was only 2-3 weeks.

People of Alaminos, my intention was not to offend you. After all I am also a Pangasinense and very proud of it. Who else will help our country but us Filipinos? In other words “don’t get mad. Be glad that that it is your fellow "kababayan" who brought the bad situation to your attention and not a foreigner. Let us not wait for the foreigners to tell us how to clean our house. Let's do it ourselves. I am sure there were so many people who visited the Hundred Islands and who came from all over the world. I wonder how many of them went back to visit the place again.

We do not need a "world class or "Top of the World" resort, but just a decent, relaxing, and enjoyable place.

To the officials of Alaminos who responded positively to my comments, I salute you. You really demonstrate an attitude of a good leader. To those who have negative feelings about it, give up your positions and plant camote. The Pangasinan people are blessed to have beautiful natural wonders. Let's treasure them and share them gracefully with others by being respectful when they visit. People all over the world would like to see what Pangasinan has to offer when they visit so let us make an everlasting good impression about our province and hopefully when they go back home, they bring good memories with them.

I plan to visit the place again in June and this time it is not with my family but with some friends who are also curious about the Hundred Islands. Hopefully, it will be a great experience for them and me. God Bless the Philippines and Mabuhay
