News Item: Where did MacArthur make his historic landing in Pangasinan?

Mayor Benjie Lim wanted to know the truth where that landing really happened. He requested the veterans and historians to help because Dagupenos believed Dugout Doug landed in Dagupan. Was it in Lingayen or in Dagupan?

According to my research, Mac did not walk ashore in Lingayen or Dagupan in the first hours of the landings.

The light cruiser Boise was Mac's flagship. In the early dawn of January 9, 1945, he landed at San Fabian.

After lunch Mac, Sutherland (his chief of staff), Egeberg, Lehrbs, and several members of the staff boarded a landing craft of the 1st Corps and headed for the beach near San Fabian.
