Pangasinense is an anglicized term which refers to the people of Pangasinan. Much like Negrense or Française or Angaise.

You have a very legitimate concern. As practiced and to my knowledge, the word Pangasinense only denotes the language (dialect) not the people themselves.
This complexity was never addressed until now. I can¹t remember anything written about this part of our heritage.
