Cops beef up security versus KFR

LINGAYEN-Believing that elements of the kidnap-for-ransom (KFR) gang  operating here  are not home-grown, Police Provincial Director Arturo Cacdac, Jr.  has ordered all police station commanders to undertake  steps to deter further kidnapping cases and to  protect all citizens.

Cacdac,   only   in  his irst week in office, said he has ordered chiefs of police in every city and municipality  to deploy uniformed police personnel to  every big school, college and university  where children of  moneyed families  are studying.

The police provincial director has no doubt  that  the KFR group that struck in Carmen, Rosales two weeks ago are members of a syndicate based in big cities  outside of Pangasinan.

The security measures being adopted by the police aims to prevent any more  kidnapping  just like what happened to a Filipino-Chinese housewife in Rosales, identified as Mrs. Gina So, who was abducted by four armed men in her store and whose whereabouts is not known yet.

A task force has already been formed by Police Regional Director Arturo Lomibao, Jr. to track down the kidnappers and recover the victim alive but it was learned that members of the family of Mrs. So  are not  cooperating with the police.

Cacdac, however, understands the negative attitude of the family because they fear that the victim might  be harmed by her abductors if they cooperate with the police.

“We could solve the case faster if the populace and concerned individuals  unselfishly cooperate,” he said. –APE
